X6170 Series Diesel Engine for Gen-sets

X170Z series diesel engine is a new generation of medium speed engine developed by Weichai Diesel Engine Works in early 1990s. Combined the advanced design concept and technology of foreign diesel engines, X170Z engine possesses many advantages such as small volume, compact structure, large power output, easy operation and maintenance, good dynamic performance, preferable economy and high reliability. This engine is in a leading position among the same engines in china.

X170Z series engine for gen-set (power range:288-550kW) can be matched with different alternators to compose top grade diesel gen-sets of 250-550kW. Different model of this series engine can be provided according to customer demands. Now it has become the new type power for the stationary power station, standby power supply, high frequency aero power station and special power supply.

It has following design features:

Crankshaft is made of nodular cast iron with high strength and has been nitrogenized. There are 12 balanced weights, which counteract the max. weight of main bearing.

Wet cylinder liner is made of chromium, molybdenum, cuprum, nickel alloy cast iron and has been treated with isothermal quench, its inner surface is ground by platform network honing. So it has high stiffness, low abrasion and long service life.

The optimized connecting rod is made of forged alloy steel, the friction-reduced layer of the bearing shell is of tri-metal, reliable performance.

P9 type injection pump is introduced technology fruit while low inertia injector is totally imported. The injector stations vertically on the center of cylinder ensuring the best combustion.

Piston adopts forced oil cooling, top ring groove mounted with anti-erosion high-nickel cast iron ring, prolongs the service life of piston and piston rings.

There are three gas rings and one oil ring. the first ring is chromium plated barrel-shaped trapezoid ring which can remove the carbon deposit automatically to avoid seizing.

The governing system adopts mechanical or electronic governing

User can choose either electric motor or compressed air motor to start.

Convenience of operation and maintenance is considered sufficiently in the design of the engine.
